Antivirus


The University uses Symantec antivirus software.

Description: All computers that connect to the UT Health Science Center San Antonio's network are required to install and maintain antivirus software.

Contact information: 

  • Contact your Technical Support Representative (TSR) to assist you in receiving the most up-to-date version of this required software, or

Requirements: UTHSCSA uses Symantec Antivirus software for PC’s, laptops, servers, and Mac platforms. Unix/Linux are required to use antivirus software as well. Not sure if you have it installed? Check for the icon, shown below, on your Windows system tray, usually in the lower right hand corner of your screen.

  • Update your antivirus software.
    You should see this icon on your Windows system tray indicating Symantec Antivirus is installed.

Restrictions:  Symantec cannot be installed on a Unix/Linux computer.

Time Constraints:  None

Turn Around Time: Usually installation is fast. Consult your Technical Support Representative (TSR) for support.
