Cancer & Therapy Research Center Information Systems

A division of Information Management & Services, the CTRC IS department provides subject matter expertise for the Center’s applications, network, communication and information storage systems.

Description: The Cancer Therapy & Research Center (“CTRC”) Information Services department supports the clinical, research and administrative staff located at the following locations:

  • Main Campus: Cancer Therapy & Research Center CTRC Institute for Drug Development, and
  • Texas Research Park

Operations, led by Mark Alexander, the CTRC Operations Team supports the Center and its staff by providing:

  • Desktop PC, laptop and printer installation, repairs and maintenance
  • Server installation & maintenance
  • Microsoft Outlook (i.e. email) support
  • Information storage, backups, etc.
  • Remote network access, including the Physician Desktop which enables remote access to key clinical applications
  • Network availability and performance
  • Cisco Telephone deployment & maintenance
  • Datacenter advanced support & maintenance
  • Cell phone support only (new equipment, replacements, etc. processed by the IMS Client Support Services team)

Informatics, led by Don York, the CTRC Operations Team supports the Center and its staff by providing:

  • Application subject matter expert (“SME”) support for the following applications:
    • MOSAIQ Electronic Medical Record
    • Harvest Lab system
    • Ascend HI Pharmacy system Carefx Context Management integration
    • Imprivata Single Sign-on (“SSO”)
    • eFilm PACS (i.e. radiology films); Fusion (web-based PACS)
    • Medical Manager clinical billing application
    • documentum imaging system
    • Dictaphone transcription system
    • CTRC custom reporting system
    • Amtelco Call Center software
  • Database Maintenance (Oracle & Microsoft SQL)
  • Radiation Oncology linear accelerator connectivity to the MOSAIQ system
  • Web development and content management for www.ctrc.uthscsa.edu and other web-related activities
  • Ad Hoc Report development
  • Solution-specific custom application development and maintenance
  • Business process documentation, optimization and redesign
  • Project management and general facilitation
